Renfesting--

Went to Scarborough Faire with baktre/Whines, athene1765 and twistdbutterfly. Pretty fun trip. A couple of major hurdles--my camera died mysteriously a few nights ago, after five years of loyal service. I know a *lot* of my friends are "very upset" with me, and "sorry" that my camera died, but...there you go. :) So...knghtsky had given me his camera as a gift, and, not to look a gift horse in the mouth, it's a damn frustrating instrument. After I downloaded adapter software so that I could translate from the native format to JPG, everything was pretty blurry and low-rez. But...I got a couple of decent photos.

Need a new camera.

I got meself a torc, a cast bronze affair. And a giant, like maybe two-cup, ladle, but I got that at an antique store, and it was originally used to smelt metal, so I'm a bit afraid to use it in spaghetti or something. It might be poison. Had a baked sweet potato for lunch. It was SO good, I'll have to start cooking those at home. Wore my wolf cloak over the priest robe Athena bought me a few years ago...darn near melted in the heat. Butterfly and Whines are really red, too.

*Snicker* Saw a performance called "Fairy Facts" (as opposed to Fairy Tales) by the Sisters Grimm. Cute act, kind of sauced up the fairy tale Cinderella and added some suggestive humor and a few musical numbers like "The Codependant Waltz." They were taking hostages volunteers from the audience, and started pacing through the crowd looking for "a distinguished gentleman..." eventually settling on Whines. He was asked to play the part of "The Fairy Godfather," who played the patron for young, attractive maidens to cover up his alternative, dubious lifestyle and maybe dating partners, ahem ahem.

You couldn't get Athena and Butterfly to stop laughing. I don't know what got into them.

They took the wings off him and gave him back to me, and eventually we finished puttering and shopping. It was a good trip, overall.

In other news, I broke Butterfly's car, or at least, the radiator fan thing isn't turning because the belt broke, the plastic chassis warped and it started spewing out white smoke. This qualifies as broke, but we got it to the mechanic.

*sigh* Gotta figure out if I can get to the capitol. They're doing another hearing, this time the senate version of the anti-gay marraige amendment, I need to figure out if I can get down there. It'll be tricky.

I sleep now...

Breaking things left and right lately, eh? Sorry to hear about your camera, maybe you'll get one not as cruel to Jeff and Butterfly, though I tknow that would disappoint you. :)

And I've had the pleasure of baked sweet potato before at Jeff's parents' house. VERY scrumptious.

Let me know when the next hearing is supposed to be. I literally work three blocks from the capitol building, tops, so even if you can't make it, I will.

It's tomorrow at 8:30 :( I can't make it. They posted it saturday night. I've spent a hundred hours fighting this, and they just wrote me out.

Taxation without representation. This is so cruel. It's calculated to make me powerless. I can't even leave a voice-mail, the head of the committee turned his answering machine off. OF course, EVERYBODY's voice mail's filled up now.

How do you change someone's mind when they're close-minded? :( How can you convince all those damned apathetic victims that they can make a difference, when at every turn, *I* can't?

I'm obsessive under stress...I'll be calling in the morning...
