I've seen one of those in RL, but not flying. That's really cute. :)

I'd be curious as to how they *did* that--I guess they could have added the mower in digitally, but that seems somehow unmagical...

You've seen a lawn mower in real life? Was it on a lawn, perchance? I don't think i even need those tags for that.. but anyway, I never new your everyday mower could create lift and be so stable.. that thing must have some invisible or clear plastic wings in order to be so nimble.. wow.

My comment was vauge...it was a model plane built to look like a lawmower, just like the one in the video. The body is a 'flying wing' made out of the same balsa/mylar that ordinary model planes are made of, and the push-bar is a small tail. It's not an optimal design, but the power-to-weight ratio on model planes is so high that you can build a plane in almost any shape and get it off the ground as long as it has flat surfaces.

See it close up here:

It's not a real mower. It's a model plane rigged up to look like a mower from a distance.

Aww...the magic is gone...but that would explain a lot!

Any sufficiently advanced flying lawnmower technology is effectively magic. :)

Re: Hey there
I was searching for a specific MP3 on evolution, intelligent design & the disposal of dead cats, and bam, there it was.

www.wfmu.org is an alternative/free-form radio station out of Jersey that used to run the "Incorrect Music Show," much fun, and they had a list of links that had that particular link next to the file I was looking for. A bunch of other weird stuff, too :)

Re: Hey there
Cool, I'll have to check it out, one more thing, I like your LJ pic as well, or maybe it's your avatar, whatever it makes me think of the Rat Pack
