Thanksgiving wrap-up:

Well, this Thanksgiving marks my and Whines's first "real" holiday together, so that was sort of a landmark--and one that I'd been looking forward to for a while :) I'm a little bit scared of Christmas, which will have my grandmother lurking somewhere like a gargoyle with borderline personality disorder. But, neither here nor there.

The food was pretty close to perfect. Mom's turkey was excellent, and I made praline sweet potatoes and pumpkin rolls which turned out decadently wonderful and adequate, but I'll want a diff recipe next time, respectively. Whines fixhed my sister's 'puter (it had something like 400 pieces of spyware on it, including one or two that made installing AdAware a challenge.)

I came down with a mild case of blech Thanksgiving dinner, which I'm mostly recovered from--I think it was just a case of allergies so severe as to give me a sore throat. Felt like flu, but just the sinus and throat side of things. I've mostly recovered, but I'm on a steady dose of "dayquil."

Taught myself how to make buffalo wings Saturday--or at least buffalo-style chicken, I don't like wings--over the weekend. Now I want to try variations--it's really easy, and the basic idea seems pretty adaptable. However, the smell of 12 roasting peppers is pretty harsh.

Highlights--
-Having five dogs in the kitchen, watching the chef intently. Scary stuff.
-I'd lost my camera and my sister offered to give me hers.
-Then I found my camera again.
-knghtsky making an appearance for dinner. Sorry about the surprise movie, Patti'd been jonesing to see Edward Scissorhands all day.
-Finishing ALL my Christmas Shopping--well, except for my sister's presents. But still :) Yay, Ebay!
-getting to have a family holiday with my SO for the first time in, oh, three years--actually, when Sam and I were together she had her own family to visit with, so this a total first.
-six servings of yams. Oooh.

Those yams were SCARY good. You need to not make them too often, they're dangerous. :)

I loved the pile of dogs...they were about as well behaved as a group made up mostly toy dogs could be, heh. :)
