Katamari Damacy!

Does anyone have any good sources for dialogue from Katamari? I've got some ideas, but I haven't played the game enough to have a good sense of The King Of The Universe's weird-*ss dialogue.

Re: Allow me to prove my ignorance
Katamari Damacy is a very strange video game where you play the Prince of the Universe. The King of the Universe has accidentally destroyed all the stars, and asks you to replace them. To do this, you--a little critter the size of a postage stamp--are given a magical ball that "picks up" things that it rolls over. So you start by making a conglomerate ball of toothpicks and thumbtacks and other tiny things, then it gets big enough to pick up bananas and dogs, then people, then trees, and eventually weather formations.

It's Japanese.

Could you guess?

Your dad appears and is whimsically, wonderfully contemptuous of you. The only good dad quote I've found so far has been "This sky is not pretty at all. It's rough and masculine. Possibly sweaty." He's...just wonderful, really.

Actually, Katamari is from Korea. They're even WACKIER than the Japanese.

It is? Why were pretty much all the names in the credits Japanese? :|

Look at american games and NOT see Japanese names there. Those guys are everywhere. Could be it was released first in Korea, I will inquire to actual Koreans about this, but I'm pretty sure that was it's first release and origin.

Re: Allow me to prove my ignorance
Sure, American games have -some- Japanese names in them, but if Katamari Damacy were Korean, there would be mostly Korean names and maybe -some- Japanese names. *goes to play the game so he can watch the credits again* ...yeah, I was right, there was not a single Korean name in there; all Japanese and a few American/English ones. I find it hard to believe that a game was 'made in Korea' by a Japanese company (Namco) which consists almost entirely of Japanese people and no Koreans.

"How disturbing." is one of the King's most oft-used phrases. I can't seem to find a script of the dialogue though...

I have the game and play it a fair bit, I'll pay attention to the dialogue now.

See the "Game Script" section of this page for the King's level intros, which are the bulk of his dialogue.

It's in section 3, which is very near the top.

I really really want this game but I can't seem to find it over here. I'll probably import it.
