I think I'm most amused by the kosher garum.

I really wish graffiti were still this verbose.

My favorite:
(small room of a possible brothel): Vibius Restitutus slept here alone
Not a very good brothel, then, is it?

Bear in mind, in many ancient cultures a brothel was a motel. Room service, as it were, cost extra.

My intuition makes me doubt the veracity of these. Even owing to a fast and loose modern translation, something seems too recent in the phrases.

I felt a bit the same way, but it was pulled from a professor's syllabus (that doesn't mean much)--also, there's the deep-seated desire to believe that we invented whatever it was, even certain specific forms of toilet humor. I was really surprised to find out how ancient the upraised middle finger gesture was.

Probably post-breakup ranting, it sounds kind of mournful.
