What I Want to Make Next:

My habenero-chocolate-topped poundcake turned out pretty well, if a little on the bland side. It was neat--the way the chocolate ran down the cake, it looked like it was dipped in crude oil :) I want to try to make the same recipe, but cut the poundcake with a half a cup of Goldschlager. We'll see what happens. I'm worried the liquid will change the cake dynamics, though.

instead, why not just serve it with atomic golden apples?

take golden apples, carefully core from the top, leaving a "lid" and the base intact. fill this with 1-2 shots goldschlager and put the lid back on, hold in place w/ toothpicks. let sit in fridge a day or so...

That sounds lovely, but it isn't what I was thinking of! But it's a neat idea and I may use them as a side :)

It may be difficult, but pretty shiny cake! Potentially...
