Basically, if there's data in a given cell, and that data represents a date that's approximately six months ago, then return a specific inventory figure divided by six. Otherwise, return the inventory figure divided by two. If the cell contains the "blank" character of --, then return a value of "--".

Slightly more complex than it needs to be, because for some reason about one time in 50 it doesn't work. The next edition did all this in four or five math columns, with only a single lookup in the "summary" page referencing the "final result" column. Not as sexy, but more functional.
