Den hunt, day...uh...

My realtor's given me a database link with a bunch of available houses. One of them--it's got a pool and hot tub--is on Dagon Drive.

Is it wrong to want to buy a house just because it's named after a Lovecraftian god?

There is nothing wrong with that at all. I've considered moving into places I couldn't afford or that were in parts of town I didn't want to live in simply because OMG I coul live on Easy Street! or Sherewood Forest! etc.

Ask your realtor to make sure you'll get emailed with updates. They can set it up to email you daily, weekly, or on whatever days you want, and enter almost any criteria you want. That way you'll see it the day anything new that fits your criteria comes on the market.

They've been coming in pretty much daily...particularly when he tweaks the parameters of my search.

I feel a bit like the real estate agent biz is shifting weirdly because of this neat DB technology. Less expertise required, less walking the properties on the part of the agent, more customer-driven. Not entirely certain I'm happy with that, but it's got to be MUCH less time-consuming when you're dealing with a city-wide territory.

City wide? I laugh -- I set up those mailings for my boss; that widget covers something like 17 counties. It's a really huge area, especially when you look at it on a map.

I don't know if it's because I'm the person who sits all day in the office who gets my boss ready for meetings and all that, but I love all the new techno tools -- and me ever saying I love anything technological is a miracle.

I know this thing (because it was written up in Dragon Magazine), but Lovecraft is much more stylish!

And without a doubt far more imaginative than the Philistines ;?)
