loss of appetite, nausea, weakness, and possibly death.

Which is not to say it's not an impressive film. This is one of the most Gilliamy of Terry Gilliam's films. Just...disturbing on obvious and subtle levels.

Difficult film to describe. You might start with "10-year-old girl left alone in her mindscape," but that really doesn't do it justice. Alice and Wonderland references abound. I don't think I caught them all.

And creepy as all heck.

AAAnyway--did any of my friends send me an entry for an e-scrabble game under the name "Fox"? I love scrabble, and foxes have their uses, but I don't recognize the link or the sender, so...

That's one of the flicks I downloaded while in town. Really looking forwards to seeing it, eyes open and attentive.

I had to hide a couple of times, this one scared me more than most horror films do.

I'm not entirely sure what those uses are, though. Cleaning out the base notes on pipe organs, perhaps?

*laughs* Okay, well, I'll accept that, but is replacing it with that strange fox smell much better? :)

I watched/suffered through Tideland the other week, and I can say as a horror buff that...it was far more disturbing than what I've ever seen. That's got to say something. Taxidermy is not a healthy mechanism to cope, enough said.

I think...I think I've seen more disturbing films, but I'm hard-pressed to remember them, off the top of my head. That was one of the most uncomfortable films I've seen in a great, long time, though. Yeesh!
