Corsican mint--

Latest plant acquisition, corsican mint. This is a pretty, pretty plant, a sea of tiny ground-hugging translucent leaves, a half-inch off the ground (if that). Deceptively powerful flavor for something that looks a bit like pixie poop. This was originally the flavor of creme de menthe. Strong stuff, but very teeny.

In a wetter climate than Austin desert, you can plant this stuff in walkways, and it'll slowly create a green carpet that springs back if you walk on it, flooding the air with the sharp scent of mint.

I've picked up a broad, white, asian-looking bowl to plant them in. Will try to add some rocks to keep it zen-looking.

Speaking of gardening, my coworkers have been talking about this place. It seems pretty interesting.

It's really amazing! I went there on my day off Tuesday (in fact, it's where I got the Corsican Mint). It's a sprawling lot with several well-developed gardens and such. Very nicely put together, fun to amble through, nice selection. Someone said they had a sort of wal-mart style toward their employees, but that's the one negative thing I've heard about them. However, it's WAY the hell south, in Oak Hill.
