Omen?

I was excavating some turf underneath an oak tree two nights ago, intending to put a raised herb bed under it. This was a good-sized area, so I did what I could Tuesday night, and finished it Wednesday night.

On Wednesday night, I saw that the oak tree had thrown several branches of mistletoe down, three seperate clumps of the stuff. I don't often see Mistletoe just lying on the ground anyway, and there certainly has never been any on the ground in that area.

I don't know what the plant-gods are telling me, though. Maybe this is auspicious?

I would take it as the tree doesn't want anymore parasites/company...

It obviously feels wounded and wants a kiss.

3 Branches of mistletoe? It is either blessing your endeavor, or telling you that Little Cesar's will have especially good pizza on July 28th. You should buy three of them.

I'd read it as: be sure your herb beds (which tend to need lots of light) won't get shaded out by the oak.

That's a very pragmatic interpretation :) Actually, I put a bed there because Stevia doesn't like direct sunlight, so this should keep off the worst of it *crosses fingers*
