I spend most of my days feeling young. It's not that I am particularly young, I'm a 30-something now, which is, you know, not exactly over the hill, can't quite run for president yet, but not going to get called "that young man." There's just so much to do in the world, so many checkmarks I haven't checked, that I feel like I'm fresh out of college most days. This isn't necessarily a good thing--sometimes it's enthusiasm, sometimes it's just I don't feel up to what the world wants to throw at me.

This week we've had a LOT of younger furs at the house. That's great, it's fun to see them and keep in touch with that perspective, but it's kind of exhausting, too, and the whole "nownownow!" thing is off-balancing when I'm getting into a "you know, whenever" sort of mode.

Feh.

To every day there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to plant, and a time to reap. A time to build up, and a time to break down. A time to dance, and a time to mourn. The gifts that adulthood brings aren't for the young, but we can share them, which is something small, but something.
