Weekend in review:

Nice weekend! I feel a lot more recharged than I have in a while : )

No D&D this weekend. The pagans and the church’s Fellowship Committee were putting together a Chocolate Extravaganza for May Day, some sort of Aphrodite product tie-in. Whines and I brought fondue – a white chocolate kahluah (neat recipe, cinnamon sticks simmered in cream for a half-hour have a fantastic smell!), a basic dark chocolate, and a sugar-free cocoa and cream cheese fondue that was actually very good. Unfortunately, I spent the entire evening with a horrible headache, which made me massively intolerant toward pretty much everything. Not the best headspace to be in for a love and happiness ritual : (

Came home, cleaned up a little.

Saturday, mostly prepping for the furry gathering that evening. Went out for a bit to grab lunch and do a little shopping, then came home to clean up and do a little food prep.

Made my famous “mostly raw” burgers. I generally suck when cooking beef or grilling. There are no recipes for the grill.

Bauson brought over a bacon-infused “experimental” burger that was a treat! We chattered for a while and started the movies.

“Summer Wars” is...quite, quite good. It’s a nice thought-experiment in communication, a sweet drama, and a cyber-fantasy. I don’t think it’d be a great family film because most of it’s at the family soap opera/slice-of-life level, but I could be wrong there.

“Mad Max: Road Warrior” is enjoyably dumb, grade B but not grade Z. I have nothing more to say about it.

We had some of the leftover fondue—I dunked a chunk of milk chocolate easter bunny into the white chocolate fondue and maybe died a little bit, it was so good.

Sunday, church day. Lots of conversations with new and interested couples and visitors, that was good! Lunch with Whines, a little thrift shopping, then home to work on projects and stuff. Had some minor frustration because I was all set to pick up PHP again, but I’d lost the password to my hypothetically PHP-driven website  So did a lot of photograph “developing,” which was some nice flashback time.

Lhexa came to visit, had dinner at some place what had food. I know we stopped somewhere, but I don’t remember where.

Got to help with home repair, yay? Had to dremel the rusted bolts off the smaller bedroom/company privy, which was a little bit icky of a task, but I’m a bit smaller and more flexible than Whines. So between the two of us we got the job done! I’m glad to help, he’s much more engaged in the home repair stuff than I am, though I don’t want to be crammed into a corner under a toilet again any time soon!
