Fud:

Made soggy jambalaya, which, in its entirety, for the first time that I've done cauldron-style cooking, was eaten up, every bit. Followed up with bread pudding with caramel sauce. Strange, strange--under the black lighting, the caramel sauce was this lambent, ichorous green spoo. It looked like something you'd see on the X-Files.

My recipe for jambalaya has a couple of peculiarities. For one, it tells you to use a third of the 3 cloves garlic, chopped, half the onions, and half the celery in step one. Nowhere else does it say when to use the rest of the onions/garlic/celery. It also calls for one large bell pepper and four shallots. It doesn't give any sort of context for them, though. Just the idea of them should be involved. You should buy them to support the bell pepper and chive market.

I dunno. Got everything out of order, ended up boiling the onions and celery instead of frying them, so they had no texture to speak of. The flavor was there, but everything was a wee bit gummy.

flippantmoniker brought some good beans with mushrooms. Mmm. Flavor. A wonderful night for rich food and propaganda. Thanks for hosting, Whines :)

Thank you for the tasty food! It was my first positive jambalaya expierience in a long time...last time I had it I think I got some with bad crawfish in it that made my body very unhappy. It's amazing how well one's subconsious remembers events like that. :) Yours was full of yummy non-threatening meats.

Heh heh heh That propaganda was pretty scary, though, ubt now I know where my mom got a lot of her ideas..
The beans was nufin special.. just a big can of beans, some chopped green onions, a sprinkling of salt and garlic powder.. and there it was: dragon fuel.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE 1950S!! If your son is looking at training magazines and other MALE PORNOGRAPHY, these images may TURN HIM GAY!!!

There *is* a cause-effect relationship there, I just think he's mixed his signifier and signified. I want a techno mix featuring the narrator from "Perversion for Profit" lovingly rolling out those words--he treasured the syllables in "Pornography," "Lesbian," "Sadism," and my favorite--"Bestial perversion." Oooh. Tell me I'm a victim of the mass media again.

Gods, I love propaganda films :)
