Odd, stupid little incident at the beach--

I was playing in the sea, diving down under the water to look for shells and suchlike, and I noticed that when I was near the sea floor, I kept hearing this high-pitched chiming, like a set of crystal windchimes, or those silver spheres they made in the late eighties with the delicate little ringing sound when you shook them. At first, I thought it was something like tinnitis (spelling?) The pressure causing me to hear something that wasn't there. But then I noticed that even when I was near the surface, I was still hearing this strange sound, like Disney's Tinkerbell, little fairy chimes. Why did the ocean sound like fairy chimes?

As it turns out it was just the sound of the rabies tags I was wearing jingling together under the water. I was a little disappointed, but it was still a neat effect.

Must I wrestle with the emotional issues of fish?

Yes...Yes you must. Frankly, I think I speak for everyone when I say we're all a little tired of your insensitivity to the emotional needs of our piscean brethren. How long will you continue to ignore the fins and flippers flung wide in friendship and brotherhood? Have you hugged a gar today?

(looks up, startled. Goldfish cracker crumbs on mouth. Looks vaguely guilty, pushes box away.)
