Insult to injury--

My oven is broken. The gas knob won't turn and the gas just runs continually. Whines turns it off, but I have to say that, unless the universe actually wants to kill off my friends, the best way to get to me is to mess with my kitchen. How can I be a jewish grandmother with just a broken microwave? My security blanket's gone for the moment. I hope my landlord can get this fixed fast.

Flippant learns fire breath and becomes the 'yena's back up cooking heat source.

Eeps! on the gas. As much as I loved the control on my gas stove, I lived in paranoid fear of dying, either in my sleep because of an unknown leak or in a big boom because of my running battle with the pilot light. On the other hand, gas heater in the bathroom = warm towels over the heater bar and I do miss that.

You, my fellow yenta, need a crockpot. From garlic chicken to beef stew with barley, crockpots are the haven of comfort foods. (The fact that queso qualifies, for me, as a comfort food is probably due to an accident of birth, but whatever).

More seriously, tenar10r has already said it, but our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Well...there's always secondary kitchen appliances like crockpots, as cawti said. Don't you have a fryer, too?

But yeah, nothing compares to the stove. Jeebus, it always likes to be problematic this time of year, doesn't it? Wasn't it broken while you were preparing food for the Houston party last year?
Anyways, that's really awful, I don't know why but bad things seem to happen in very distressing and untimely clusters. *hugs again*

Maybe the stove breaking at this point in time isn't a coincidence. Maybe John wants to make us use the grill.

Now...*there's* a thought. That and the fan, huh? I suppose he was lamenting the lack of a ghost at y'all's new place. *smile*

Or pehaps he didn't like people gathering together in memory of him and *baking*. At least not frozen pizzas. I wonder if he's still doing the man point thing.

He poltergeist'ed the stove to make you use the grill!

So, should we all pitch in and get you a fresnel lens for X-mas?

Oh, absolutely. Was there ever a doubt?

Re: It's Autumn
Winter? In Texas? Nah... I'm still wondering when it's going to get below freezing. :-)
