The Exorcism of Baby Jane--

Went to see "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" the other day. Fun movie, not really good, not really bad. It had an interesting story to tell about a child either stricken with epilepsy or posessed by a demon, not really clear which. It's a good, strong story about faith, but it's not a horror movie--it's a legal trial with some horror elements thrown in at the beginning. Frustrating, because Butterfly and I are jonesing for a new horror movie.

Two frustrating things about it--the dialogue's impossible to take seriously (I wasn't the only one giggling, I know that, it sounded like a Chick Tract), and the court story style, with flashbacks and reports and investigations, really disrupts the narrative thread.

That, and it advertises itself as a horror movie. *tsk*

Funniest thing about it was the conversation two...uh...18-20 yr old guys were having in front of me. It went something like...

"So, what movie are we here to see?"
"I don't know. Something about Satan."
"Is that the one the minister told us not to see?"
"Oh, yeah."
Staffer: "What can I do for you today?"
"Can we get two tickets to that Satan movie?"
