[fades] browns and reds

Random jottings--

lthe_october has a cute challenge in his LJ--make your own unnecessarily creepy scifi alien nuisance. I'll have to think on this one once my brain is up to speed.

Act of purest financial irresponsibility: I broke down and bought a "real" didjeredoo. It's beautiful, about five feet long, finished agave cactus, with a wonderful deep rich tone. It says "concert quality" on the paper. Mm, shiny.

Typical haven't-posted excuse--Work's got me fried, and I've been dividing my spare time between Baktre and staring into space, or staring into space with Baktre. Most days at work have been "challenging." I have a potential $2.million project that I'm the main organizer on, and my boss redefines the project every single day. It's very frustrating. Once the saga's over I'm going to make a report on it.

Scavenger report: Went shopping with kannah and baktre yesterday. Picked up a nice blacklight fixture, a Domino's Pizza delivery jacket, three of those little tabletop card-holders they put beer or dessert advertisements in, good wooden ones with Samuel Adams Beer on them, purple camo shorts, the aforementioned didj, a kewl prezzie for TrollTruck, and a 1976 copy of the Raggedy Ann board game board. It's very cute. Saw a neat wall hanging at Limbo, but they didn't take checks and I didn't feel like working anything else out, I was kind of irritated by the no-checks thing. It was this horrible 70's french girl, very much a middle school student (plain clothes), with this fried zombie expression, like her life wasn't worth living but maybe Prozac could help, clutching a book labeled "Grammaire." Yay!

Oh, and a copy of Keanu Reeves' "Babes in Toyland," which is enough to test the strongest friendship, relationship, and stomach. I think I'm going to have a "Let's Hate Christmas Movies" party in the vague seasonal future.

And now, I'm going to sell books to baptists. If anybody tells them how non-Jack Chick compliant I am, I may not make it back :)
