[fades] browns and reds

Thoughts, gifts to family, et cetera--

Well, I was correct in the family not wanting flowers and physical stuff. If people want to give John's family something in the way of defraying expenses and memorial funds, y'all can route it through me. One thing the sister asked for specifically was stories, though. If you wanted to write something and snail-mail it, that's cool, or e-mail it to me (I'd kind of prefer snail mail, personally, but that's because I'm badly organized.)

If you need my contact information, drop me an e-mail at

and I'll send you stuff. Mother's name is totally eluding me at the moment, I'm so embarrassed. Sister's name is Marilyn, father's name--you'd never guess, I can't figure out how I forgot what John IV's father's name is--is John III. Wow. Surprise of the century, that.

Got to add the phrase "barbeque, fantasy gaming and mad science" to the obituary. This pleases me somewhat.

Much love,
Spotty

Okay, reserved a chapel--

Hey, all! Okay, "facts," subject to change if the family argues or anything, but here's what I know. I was asked for "late in the day on the 23rd."

So, here's what I believe to be true, and I'll probably sign papers or something soon--

John's memorial service:

Thursday, december 23
4-6 PM (how long do these usually last?)
First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin
(directions)

Austinites--this is pretty much next door to the old 49th and Burnet location of Dragon's Lair, it's just a few blocks down 49th to Grover. So use The Old Lair as your compass.

I plan to wear blue :) Aaand, if you have a barbeque pit and 'l33t BBQ skills, bring both of those to my backyard after the service for a barbeque. Bring meat, too, I can't afford everyone :)

Waaaaahhh...

Okay, John and I have moved, maybe, a dozen people, not counting my own move-in to Chukar. He's strong, I don't run out of energy easily, and he has a truck. He's my moving buddy, I'm his moving buddy.

Tonight, I loaded his furniture into his truck.

I got pictures of this in case I'm just feeling too darn chipper some time. It really was agonizing. That was the last time I'll see the Troll Truck, for which I'm very thankful, but...but that burned badly.
