[fades] browns and reds

Okay, the service is over, wrote the eulogy, read the eulogy, the wake is done, the house is tolerably clean even so. There is--are?--is--20 pounds of meat in the freezer, and I'll probably have to make chili on the 26th to use up the meat.

For some reason, there is a huge tangle of blue hair on my table. I'm going to ignore it for now.

A lot of people showed up. I think Lindsey was surprised there weren't that many people, but on the flip side, I think the big church funerals are friends of friends filling out the rows.

Anyway, it's over, we're moving on. New roommate coming soon. Will probably meet with him briefly tomorrow. Maybe I'll get up early to make him a key, but probably not.

I guess just a few things to do. Need to clean up and consolidate his room one more time--besides a couple of things I pulled aside, just in case, or for Nasco. At some point down the road I'm going to have to commit to rocketing John's ashes into space, that'll take some fund-raising. I hate to pack up his stuff for good. But it's time. Now I lay me down to sleep, and all. Turn the page, begin another chapter. God bless us, every one, &ct.
