[fades] browns and reds

Your tautology for the day--

There's a Reader's Digest Book Fair in the cafeteria downstairs. It's same old same old, bibles and cookbooks and kiddy books. Nothing special.

There's a four-DVD set of wild animal videos--predator/prey, hunter/hunted stuff. S'okay, I've got two of those sets, they're nice enough.

What stopped me was the caption at the bottom:

Either the heroes live...Or they die!

The same could be said of advertising account executives, hairdressers, rotifers, and my neighbor's bougenvillas. It might not apply to certain single-cell organisms, but that's dodgy.

Experiencing cake failure...

Oh, dear. This cake thing isn't going very well. It's not that it's going to be inedible, but the icing I was making--the caramal icing to go on the candy apple cake--seized up. It turned all brittle and crumbly, like royal icing almost.

That, and I totally had a senior moment, popped the blades out of my eggbeater and then absent-mindedly dropped the motor case unit into the batter. I sleep now.
