Well, November 8, the big vote-out for the anti-gay-marriage amendment, draws close. I'm looking forward to it, a lot more free time in the universe. I'm really getting frustrated by, as our volunteer coordinator said, all the people who go to pride fest all day with their shirts off and look at boys, but can't really be bothered to go to the mall for a half-hour and vote. Worse, though, is 342,050 or so people, probably more than will actually vote in the election, saying "my vote can't make a difference." Grumble...

Anyway, the deadline for registering to vote is October 10, but to be safe, probably a week earlier would be better. Your local post-office has the form, or you can request one on-line at

Early voting for the anti-gay-marriage amendment, Amendment 2, begins October 24.

Whee, much fun :)

A lot of people have posted "if you believe in marriage equality/support gay rights, paste this to your Blog" messages. This one's mine, though you might want to edit out the snarky comments, it's been a very frustrating week for volunteering.

Isn't everyone nowadays auto-registered to vote when they acquire/renew their drivers license?

I think they have to check a box or something. Nothing's really entirely automatic, from what I've seen.

Why couldn't I have been born a year later? I hate not being able to vote on all this important issues going down.

Yeah, that sucks :( Ach, well, there'll be something equally disasterous on the ballot when you're 30 :)
