*blink, blink*

Sometimes, the staff at Asian restaurants tell you what they think you want to hear. Sometimes, they're wrong.

Them: "Hello, Mongolian Barbeque?"
Me: "Hi, I think I left my cel-phone at your restaurant. Did you find one?"
Them: "Yes."
Me: "Good, I must have left it there when I was having lunch. Can I come by and pick it up?"
Them: "Yes, you come by, pick anything up you want, we cook it for you."
Me: "O..kay...thanks..."

It is Asian etiquette to respond 'yes' when the question is not understood. The positive response is viewed as being polite. (This is from one of those corporate multiculturalism seminars I took somewhere in the distant past.)

On that note, never walk behind a buffet place if you're wounded, sick, or alone.
