Recurring nightmare

Had another episode of my recurring nighmare--the one where, one at a time, my teeth shatter or fall out. It's an agonizing dream. The setting varies a bit, but the dream's the same--I start with a full set of teeth, then one shifts slighty, and before I can do anything--usually just from the stress of feeling it with my tongue--it falls out. I can feel them shifting in their sockets and taste blood. The dreams where they shatter are worse, they have the taste of enamel and the crunch of brittle, thin shells disintegrating. All the senses are active.

This was the worst yet, my dream-self was screaming and couldn't find anyone to help, and I woke up in a panic.

I get this one about once a month.

I'll finally give in to Josef and Path's continual nettling about going into the dentist for a checkup.

Re: o.O
It's not that uncommon--I think it's my form of the fear-of-aging dream.

Re: o.O
I think it is more complex than a 'teeth' dream. I think it relates more of a fear of saying something - or not saying something. So, in turn, your mouth just shatters. It's a symbol.

If you like I can send you to a great dentist. He pulled four of my teeth, and I didn't feel a thing. He's up at the Castle Dental up there on 35, at the same chopping center as Freebirds. His name is Dr. Scott Berry, and he's quite good at what he does. *nod*

I worry about dental offices located in 'Chopping centers'. :)

*Frantic nod-nod*

I'll probably just stick with Whines' dentist, so I have more opportunities to embarrass my loved ones :)

Variation on the dream... perhaps you shouldn't read this until after you go to the dentist.

My particular one, which I haven't had for many years now, involves those ultrasonic polishers they used to use (maybe still do?) to polish teeth. I'm in the dentist's chair getting my teeth polished, and every single tooth they start polishing ... dissolves.

Great, I'll probably get that one next week. Though I've never had a tooth dissolve. Most often, they shatter or rot.

Oulf. I usually get it, and in the dream I test-wiggle my tooth- and it comes out. And each time I'm convinced, "Its actually real this time!"

Yah, I do that all the time--Whines logs me out of my own system :)
