The Gay/lesbian/trans/queer dinner group that I facilitate went well last night, and the month before. That's a good thing. We keep getting a lot of "adults" (as opposed to Whines and myself, who are more like arrested development cases). It's good to have conversations with more normal people, particularly since we've got a lot in common with this group through the Unitarian community and gay rights and all. Once we get our new house, I think I'm going to try to set up a nice dining/chatting room, and maybe we can have a church-people party. We'll see.
The membership fair we're having at church is starting to pick up pace. I need to have everything nailed down by, like, August 5 or so. So next week I've got a lot of phone calls to make to be sure I've reached all the committee heads, then we need to map out the layout of the festival. Basically, this is going to be an event where the heads of all the groups and committees can come to recruit members, and other people can see what goes on in our wacky church. I'll do what I can to make sure the Pagan group has a nice big table--they're doing so much stuff!
I'd love it if there was a singles group there, but I don't really feel qualified to host that one, being other than single. Maybe someone will step up to the plate at the membership fair.
I'd like to do a lot more stuff, but I'm going to hit burnout if I'm attempting more than one major thing at a time. So let's get through the membership fair, then try something new. Whee.
