Crepe bonanza last night. Butterfly and Jerseytude came over for dinner. Got a bit of a late start, but wrapped up everything by 8:00--Butterfly's a vegetarian, so I made crepes stuffed with steamed asparagus and hard boiled eggs topped with hollendaise for her, sort of an eggs benedict event. For the carnivores, chicken, baby bellas and fennel with brie, topped with a dollop of white sauce and a little tarragon (the fursthatcook community is a great resource for show-off type recipes!)
Dessert was, basically, strawberry and blueberry blintzes. The strawberry "syrup" smelled wonderful--six or eight big strawberries blended with a little water, a little sugar, then cooked with a dash of almond extract. It smelled like strawberry candy :)
Had blintzes for breakfast. I'm tired of crepes now.
