*yawn* Weekend in review--

Soo...tired! Daylight savigns on TOP of missing a lot of sleep, very yawn-inducing state. Coffeecoffeecoffeeeee...

Got up a little early Saturday with Whines to shop for gardening stuff with my father. At "Red Barn Nursery" I had a bad moment of gazebo-lust--they had a really pretty wire-frame gazebo with kind of an Indian look to it, very graceful with lots of curlicues. Unfortunately, even at the half-price sale, it was $1100. I'm still tempted, but I shouldn't do that while I'm trying to save for a convention.

I'll probably go back next Saturday and pick up a few trees...

Birthday party prep started at 4:00 with some light cooking, and Cashew came over a little early to hang out. I made a chocolate cake with maaaybe one too many chipotle peppers in it, I think I usually do two, but I haven't made that recipe in a long time, so I used three and didn't blend them very well :( Whoops. I'll remember that next time. Also did another white chocolate wasabi fondue, but it wasn't as good as the first time--every time I use high-quality white chocolate instead of the cheap vanilla chips, it turns out kind of second-rate. Note to self.

Lots of cartoons--we stayed up at LEAST until 2:00 watching them. Not the most social of parties, but fun :) A new fur came to visit, I'd never met him before but he was bored. John Marques's family, Turtle and her mom, came for the long haul, and gave me the best present evar--a huge bag of horse poop. How thoughtful :)

Sunday was a bit of a wash, I went to a committee meeting, and then spent most of the rest of the day curled up in front of the TV with Whines and our remaining party guests. But it was a nice wash.

OMG, I forgot about that :) It's a great cookbook, too! Has some recipes that really look exciting--I've got to try the coconut-custard-filled pumpkins :)
