Got up at 5:00 Saturday to go with mom to the Dallas trade market for wholesale goodness. If I sat down at all between 9:30 and 6:30, it was for about two minutes, total. My body's not used to that sort of abuse! My feets are very sore now, and my hips are expressing regret, too.
There was apparently a massive hailstorm in our area, blanketing every square inch with ice. Plants that I'd protected under an overhang look like a group of teenagers that really hated patchouli were taking shots at them with BBs. Everything's torn apart. I think I only lost one plant, a little oregano that was kind of off balance anyway after I went on an herbal viniger kick.
On the other paw, my lemon basil is growing beautifully! I've got about 10 healthy plants that I started from seed, they're looking pretty good, and the smell (this is "Mrs. Burns Amazing Lemon Basil") is bright and citrusy. Some of them are already starting to grow branches!
Sunday, mostly puttered around. My car's cost me an unexpected $1000 in maintanance (brakes were shot, front struts were doing poorly, a few other minor things). So I was trying to avoid spending money, and mostly succeeded. Nice early lunch with Whines, hit a few stores, reheated some spaghetti for dinner, then stayed off my feet as much as possible.
