Fondue? Aging coyotes?

Okay, so, Whines turns slightly older in a few weeks. Who wants to join us for FONDUE?!? on Saturday, August 30?

Let's say the doors are going to open at our den at 6:00.

Want to participate? Any of the following would be welcome:
Fresh veggies in bite-sized pieces (carrots, brocolli, mushrooms, squash...)
Crusty, chewy bread in bite-sized pieces
Fresh fruit in bite-sized pieces (apples, strawberries, bananas)
Various meats (thin-sliced tuna, chicken, beef, shrimp, tiny little sausages and pre-cooked meatballs)
Cheap cheesecake isn't a bad option, either
Exotic dipping sauces would be welcome

Anyone that's ambitious enough to bring a fondue pot full o'stuff will be welcome, too! Or just has a fondue pot, I've got a few of 'em, but probably not enough. We have LOTS of fondue forks, but could use a few more fondue plates (these are frequent Goodwill finds, they usually are round plates with one central shallow area and 4-6 little "sub-dishes" around them.)

I'll try to have the following: One seafood soup fondue, one cheese fondue, one vegetarian fondue, and a dessert (white chocolate), and several sauces (probably wasabi, horseradish, Green Goddess, off-the-shelf thai peanut, and cream of balsamic.)

Let me know if you want to play, and particularly if you want to bring something!

If that's labor day weekend, I should have that Monday off from classes. I might be able to sneak away and drive 3 hours to Austin for the weekend. :P If you want to put up with me again, of course. ;) My only request would be that I could stay at least one night, and possibly bring my kitty (Darck) with me. He's never been to a furmeet before.

It might be better to look at this as "birthday party" rather than "furmeet," but I don't see that as being a problem.

Well yeah, a birthday is what I meant. :P Is there anything in particular I should get for Whines? Or would he be happy with food? :)

Food is great :) Stupid coyote stuff, artificial banana flavoring stuff (I don't understand it, either), are all good, but honestly, we're both trying to slim down a little on the "stuff" front.

Oh--question--I saw a Kimba boxed set at half price books for $20 or $24, I can't remember which. Do you want me to pick it up and throw it into the "fob these off on the lion" pile, if it's still there?

Um...well, as far as Kimba goes, I already have the first two DVDs, but there's a total of 4 for them, so I'd like just 3 and 4 if that's a possibility.

I dunno, it was a boxed set--I'm not sure if it was even formatted the same way as the editions you have.
