Yay! Over! :)

The church event that I'd been doing about 50% of the work for is OVER now, yay! We had a LOT of attendees, I'd guess about 400 people, coming to see what the church was all about. Doing a brief checkup, even the most tedious of the church committees had a sign-up or two, so that was great - including my own "welcoming people to the church/contacting with membership" committee, which is challenging to get new members for.

So, THAT's done! Next on the to-do list for the year, a big bake sale in October, and a campout at the Council of Magickal Arts, where I'll be putting on an hour-and-a-half lecturette on Unitarian Universalists, Paganism, and UU Paganism. Then, I THINK that's it for the year, and we can look at having some sort of fun gatherings in November :)

In the meantime, I'm very tired of being busy :) Whines has too much fun when I'm out running around doing church stuff, and I'll have to put a stop to that :)

Sorry I missed you! Was the sermon any good, BTW? I was too busy to focus, but it looked like church ran a little longer than usual.

I liked it; the theme was basically, don't stereotype people and be excellent to each other. Would it be too lame to say the Scottish accent made it better?

Absolutely not, a scottish accent makes everything better! Was that the new intern minister? I'll have to start making his sermons :)

It's okay - I think we're going to be coming back. :) It ran a bit long (granted, it's been almost 10 years since I've been back to a church so it was likely to feel long). I loved the play act and the reading. I though the sermon also had a great message. I liked the brogue but we sat a bit farther back and sometimes I had a hard time figuring out what he was saying.

That's good to hear :) Well, if you have any questions about the church, don't hesitate to ask me, I'll be happy to answer them (reasonably honestly, too, I have a love-hate relationship with churches).
