First annual 29th birthday!

So, this Saturday I turn 29 for the first, but certainly not the last, time. Wishes of "many happy returns" will be 100% accurate :)

For those who wish to celebrate with me, I'll be running around downtown Austin most of that day. My vague schedule, subject to change--

Saturday, March 6:
11:30: Book People, corner of 6th and Lamar, where that fine upstanding independent bookstore will be having a "Dr. Seuss's Birthday Party" event, which may prove to be exceptionally boring. I don't know, I've never been to a Dr. Seuss's Birthday Party.
12:30: Lunch at Whole Foods Cafe, next door.
1:15-ish: Tailgate party, probably on the second floor of the Book People parking garage. Look for the dusty blue truck marked "I Be Best Troll." It's kinda hard to miss. There will be cake, but, horrors, I will probably buy it. Please don't be disappointed in me.
2:00-ish: Texas Memorial Museum's Science Fair, running all day until 5:00. If this event proves to be exceptionally lame, we may move to the Bob Bullock museum, which I haven't seen yet.

I'm going to call an early day at 5:00 or 5:30 or so, as I have some evening plans, but Austin's been very obliging about providing some fun stuff to do this Saturday afternoon!

If you want to get ahold of me, drop me an e-mail (spottylogic(at)occultmail.com) and I'll happily drop you my celphone number.

Let me know how much cake I should pick up! :) Love ya!

You're buying the cake? YOU, of all people, are buying the cake?

Coming from the same person that lamented that I'd served him Pasta in a Box?
Coming from the same person who was more scandalized by his sisters using his pans to make brownies from a mix then he was by the other contents of those brownies?

Age does remarkable things to people, I guess. =)

I'll try to make it.

Not age so much as a vicious work/gaming/garage sale schedule that weekend :)

It's amazing that you'll sell your culinary principles for a game.

Wait a minute? Who am I again? What the hell am I sawing???

Crapola, need to empty my account for SCARE, rent can wait! *scurries off*

If it means anything, I'm gonna stop by Central Market for the cakes?

Like I care. I live off box dinner, remember? I'm just giving you a hard time because I can.

Whether or not I go will depend almost entirely on how hung over I am from the night before. Given my response to a my 60-hour minum schedule is "It's Friday, I need a drink," everything's up in the air.

Well, I'll have to buy a little cake and eat it in your honor. 29. Sheesh. At least you're a guy. Men improve with age, women just keep trying to look younger. At least it seems that way when I study what the 40-somethings at the bar are wearing...

Re: cake
I don't wanna hear about it. Men drop dead 10 years earlier. So pbvfth.

Re: cake
(blink, blink) I'm definately going to have to get in on this racket. If that's a mid-life crisis, sounds peachy :)

(Spotty *ahems* and reaffixes his "Sensitive New-Age Guy" tag. Sorry about that...)

Hee hee--you're not fooling anyone. Wait, what movies have you cried at?

I'm shocked...scandalized..horrified...even if it is from Central Market, I can't let you have store-bought cake on your first 29th birthday....tell me what you like and how many to expect, and I'll whip something up....I'll even tone down watever liquor I end up putting in it so we don't repeat the weekend of the pecan-pie buzzes.

Re: *gasp*
Hee hee--actually, Mme. Butterfly is going to try to make me a cake! Yay! And I think Badger is going to pick me up an Italian Cream Cake (mmm...) so there's a backup pastry. Never make plans without a backup pastry :)

Re: *gasp*
*sniffle* But I was gonna make a snazzy red velvet cake with sinfully rich cream cheese icing....

Very Sorry
But I don't think I will be able to make it this year. I would love to, but I committed to a couple of events for that evening, not realizing your birthday was coming up.

Be that as it may, I hope this year brings you happiness, success, love and spectacular new recipes.

Re: Very Sorry
'Sokay, it's a bit last minute. I'll run into you some other way :)

Yeah. My Mom has been turning 29 for abour thirty years now.

Happy birthday in advance. Sorry I won't be back in time for the celebration.
Mar. 2nd, 2004 06:45 am (UTC)
Oh, well, you said you'd be out of town :) I'm not sure if I can legally be celebrating my 29th when my 9-years-younger sister turns 29, but we'll burn that bridge when we cross it.

People sing these things when I can't reach them, then rely on my terrible memory for their safety. I'm psychically bopping you on the head with a ball-peen hammer right now. *bonk* Just so you know.
