
It's really good to have some sort of on-going project to keep me grounded. The most recent thing has been developing a database of members and interested parties. That's been kind of interesting.
What I've Learned:
When one knows church people, it doesn't take that many degrees of separation to reach some really interesting contacts. I'm apparently three degrees from the owners of the Alamo Drafthouse, the HEB grocery chain, and Lyndon B. Johnson. The latter, I think, isn't very participatory these days.
It is virtually impossible to create a convenient system to quickly sort someone by religious preference. This is partly due to the presence of Unitarian Universalists in my data. I THINK a three-field set of acronyms will cover it (self: UU AGN PAG, Whines: HUM UU ATH, mom: ANG LIB...)
I think I'm about a week away from "going public" with the LJ community. I wanted to get a good base of posts there before advertising it on LJ, which *must* involve an increase in posting--at least once a week from self, mom, and her business partner, as well as anyone else who wants to participate.
