Nice weekend overall!

Got the "DIY ritual workshop" wrapped up Saturday morning. That's good. After that, a little lunch and shopping with Whines (didn't BUY anything, but I was wandering around with pots of dill and nasturtiums and a happy gardener expression before I put them back).

You know, I'm having a hard time remembering Saturday night. I know we got in pretty late, just before 10:30, for some reason. Ah...don't know why. Dozed off while Whines watched a re-run of Saturday Night Live and a little bit of a Brendan Frazer movie.

Sunday morning was a little rough--had a committee meeting of my church Membership committee. It'd been coopted by the church's Board of Directors, who wanted us to revise the membership policies so that things were more cut-and-dried when there was another large crisis. They spent an hour with us working over the Bylaws...have I ever mentioned how much I hate bylaws? And mission statements. Oh, boy. Bylaws and mission statements are the two ways of wasting a committee's time.

A few months ago, there was a church dinner where I got pinned down conversationally by this older guy. He was really condescending--the sort of "do you know who your city council is" assholery that I really hate, I'm an adequete participant in the democratic process, but honestly, I *do* tend to vote straight democratic unless I'm well-informed on an issue. Basically, he spent 30 minutes talking *at* me, not *too* me, and the two times I tried to participate, he talked *over* me.

So, he decided he wanted to join the Membership Committee. :( Grumble.

But after that, we came home, I did a little cleaning and a little light gardening (re-planted the lemon grass and lemon verbena, Whines cleaned up the kitchen a bit, Lhexa came over to visit, and Cebu a little later. Made a good dinner--adequete pork chops topped with apples and veggies, some very good blackened potatoes with rosemary from a neighbor's front yard (I should grow my own...) and a salad with mixed lettuce, avocado, turkey bacon, feta, and a little balsamic/olive oil. Overall, pretty good stuff, though the pork chops were a touch flavorless and the veggies didn't really blend much.

Nice to see people :)

...Nasturtiums actually exist? Wow.

Yes! And they're edible, and want to be included in salads :)

...I take it they don't grant you invulnerability for a short time, though. :P

Anyway, thanks again for the meal, even if I was a bit clueless about the pork chops.

S'okay, you don't appear to eat non-broccolish veggies anyway, I was expecting to find a little pile of them beside the pork chop :)

Where do nasturtiems grant you invulnerability, out of curiosity?

...Tomatoes! I eat those.

They do so in a roguelike called Legerdemain, which is my only other point of reference for nasturtiums.

Re: I thought you might find this fun.
That's pretty amazing! Thanks for the note, I'll have to make that next year :)
