What? What?!?

Dear Mr. Williamson:

We are pleased to work with the staff of our sister company's New Zealand office. Our reputation as a publishing company is built in part on our international scope, and New Zealand's authors are well-known in the field of educational publishing. Teachers know and respect their names, and the NZ office is a fine addition to our portfolio.

In the future, please do not refer to New Zealand's primary author as "The Mad Goddess" in official communications.

Best Regards,
Vice President, Marketing

point of view
I would be delighted to be referred to as The Mad Goddess. it would make a charming alternative to The Bitch who Hounds Us into Doing Our Jobs, which is the long form of my name here. Usually it's shortened to Bitch.

Traditionally, I am addressed as Joseph, Joshua, or "Marjorie referred me to you." I must have words with Marjorie, I seem to be her swiss-army, all-purpose contact.

There must be a Greek word for things that would never have occurred to you to do, if you hadn't been told not to...

And on the other hand, there should also be a word for the principle that the existence of a prohibition implies previous display of the prohibited behaviour.

All in all, a brilliantly enigmatic memo.

I figured he *had* done it, actually, and was being told not to do it again.

Actually, I only refer to her as "The mad goddess" in informal communication. I have *some* sense. However, people have a bad habit of forwarding my snarky comments along with the attached spreadsheet, which will eventually cause me problems :)

I should just run a script that replies "ROTFLMAO" to every one of your posts, since almost every one of them is hysterically funny. O.O

You flatter me :)

Don't stop, it was just an observation.
